Comedy Writing

In our GT class we have another project called comedic monologue. This project is similar too our visual poems we did last year. A sense of humor is a important character trait because everyone should be happy and laugh. I think its good if everybody knows how make someone laugh. The positive attitude you have will not just affect you but it will also effect the people surrounding you.

I'm going to tell you 5 tips on writing a humorous narrative. The 1st tip is that telling racial jokes are not funny. It may seem funny to you, but for some it may seem very offensive. My second tip is that you can make a joke about yourself. You can use a funny story that happened to you and it will be really funny. Third, if you don't have a humorous story to tell then use sarcasm. Choosing a subject you believe is annoying and saying you love is very funny. Fourth, when saying you joke make sure you voice is not just the same. Say it like you actually telling a joke using hand gestures, changing up your voice at points of the joke where you need too and make sure you say it nice and clearly. The tone of your voice will help you because if your saying it really funny then it will be really funny. Most times when I'm telling jokes their not even funny and people usually laugh because of how I say it. My last and final tip is that when finished making your joke try get someone to read it for you so you know that someone else thinks its funny. When asking someone to check it you can get feedback and you will feel for good about the joke you made.

My comedic monologue is about pure sarcasm and not offensive at all. Mine is about being sick and how I love it. To be honest there are some good things about being sick that you might actually love. Like for example not being able to go to school is a bonus but there are consequences you get for just missing 1 day of school. My comedic monologue is funny to me because I take the things that people hate about being sick and put it in a joke. Just pure sarcasm and I believe that a very funny joke.
